When In Doubt, Ask Robin Via SMS Service

Written by Hakim Hayat /BB on 13 August 2011.

Bandar Seri Begawan - An incubatee of the iCentre, Modasys Technology, recently launched a trial for an SMS service application tailor made for the public called Ask Robin.

The innovative call-centre service that operates via SMS involves the public texting inquiries to one single number followed by an appropriate response sent back to them via SMS.

Modasys believes that any businesses, big or small can benefit with this service as it will enable businesses to promote themselves and provide customers with quick and accurate information. Businesses are eligible for participation with this service after registering and providing their details, latest offers and products.

Supported and backed by the Brunei Economic Development Board (BEDB) and AiTi (Authority of Info-Communications Technology Industry), businesses can choose from the different plans on offer to match their personal needs.

Listing with the Ask Robin Service plan can cost as low as B$6.50 per month.

"We offer much more than ordinary printed directories. When using Ask Robin, customers communicate with real people.

It's this human-to-human interaction that allows us to recommend the exact product or service that's right for that particular customer," stated a Modasys representative.

Other than the basic listing, there is also an option for an SMS Call-Centre designed for businesses that already offer customer service or telephone support.

It is also an inexpensive alternative for businesses that do not operate a call-centre.

In conjunction with the Ramadhan season, Ask Robin will be testing its service by promoting restaurants in Brunei. During its launch, Ask Robin will provide information regarding the latest promotions offered by restaurants registered under the Ask Robin service.

To start using the service, the public can text their questions to the number 39993.

Each SMS will be charged $0.20.

Currently, it is only available to B-Mobile subscribers and will soon be available to DST subscribers. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
